A small family, a mother and her three children arrived at Ellis Island on May, 7, 1892. Alis Reilly was 50 years old when she set foot in the United States. She and her three children came over on the City of Berlin, via Liverpool, England. From Ireland, she traveled with three bags in the After Lower Steerage area of the boat. She could read and write English, and she intended to settle in New York.
Her daughter Rutie was 16 years old, and listed as a spinster on the ship manifest. Her son James was 13 years old and the youngest Rose Anne was 11 years old.
